About the Opportunity
We are seeking to grow our team with our first Digital Marketing hire! You are keenly aware of the power of story and are skilled in using both data and narrative to inspire action. You have worked in marketing for 2-5 years, with experience in social media, digital engagement, and content marketing. You have a deep appreciation for your audience and know how to develop strong relationships on each platform. Above all, you’re looking to use your skills to help businesses create meaningful change.
Core Job Functions
As we welcome our first Digital Marketing role, you will have significant opportunity to shape the direction of this role. If you have a vision for what digital marketing can look like at Decade, and are excited to contribute, we welcome your application. Specific functions we seek include:
Social Media Marketing:
· Design and grow social media presence across channels (initially LinkedIn, Instagram)
· Leverage existing market research, and generate new insights, to attract and engage small and medium businesses in communities across Canada
· Generate user engagement on all platforms to cultivate market awareness, generate leads and sales, and develop a strong community of impact professionals
Website and Online Marketing:
· Optimize website(s) for awareness and acquisition, including implementing and tracking performance with Google Analytics, SEO/SEM and lead capture strategies
· Measure and report on performance; leverage insights to power creative growth strategies
Content Marketing:
· Develop powerful messaging and narrative that speaks to our vision of a world made better; engage program alumni, current clients, and stakeholder community through thoughtful social media, blogs, and newsletters
Working in a dynamic start-up environment, the successful applicant is also expected to assist with a variety of tasks outside their core responsibilities. In particular we anticipate that this role will assist with customer experience and community building.
About You
We are seeking candidates who have:
· 2-5 years experience in marketing, ideally in a B2B capacity – with solid knowledge of social media, SEO/SEM, Squarespace integrations, Google Analytics, Hubspot
· Strong understanding of user journey, ideally with experience in human-centered design
· A knack for data-driven thinking; you know your way around a spreadsheet (Excel).
· Graphic design / familiarity with Adobe Suite is a strong benefit
Additionally, the ideal candidate will:
· Be strongly aligned to our mission, with passion for impact business. Preference for sustainability experience in one or more sectors (e.g., food systems, textiles, construction)
· Have excellent written and verbal communication skills with superb attention to detail
· Have a strong sense of initiative, and ability to work well independently and in a team
· Experience or a quick ability to learn various digital tools and platforms, including Asana, Hubspot, MS Suite, Dropbox, Google Drive, Zoom, and Miro
· Show up with curiosity, courage, and compassion
Compensation
This posting is for an initial 6-month contract, with possibility of extension. Benefits include vacation time starting at 3 weeks, extensive support for community involvement, remote-first workplace, and budget for professional development. Annual salary range: $45,000 - $55,000.
This position is grant-supported and requires the role to be filled by an individual who meets specific criteria, most notably post-secondary graduate, 30 years or younger.
